Ancient Egyptian Roasted Chickpeas with Spices
A RARE CLUE
Finding something once is not the same as finding it everywhere.
Chickpeas are known from ancient Egypt, but the archaeological evidence is much more limited
than it is for foods such as emmer wheat, barley, or lentils.
That creates an important question:
If archaeologists find a food in one place or period, can we assume everyone in ancient Egypt ate it?
No. Evidence has a time and a place.
